OOC RULES
- Your account name must be the name of your character. You can have more than one character but you will need to make separate accounts.
- Members must treat each other and staff with equal respect.
- This site is PG-13, which means that any talk or roleplay that goes on must not contain adult content.
- No baiting, nagging, or spamming.
- No causing drama. I cannot stress this enough. Those who cause drama will be banned.
- Do not ask to be a staff member or you will never even be considered to be apart of the team.
- Rudeness is not tolerated and will result in a warning and/or ban.
IC RULES
- Unless they died in season 1, all characters in the following seasons are still alive and all dwell in Storybrooke, ready to be played.
- Literateness is not required, as sometimes grammar is not a strong point of one, but I do ask that you are at least semi-literate
- No powerplaying or godmodding in a fight.
- All private threads are to be directed to the Housing Development board (unless in the Other Realms category) but that does not mean they have to be in a house, that's just where they will belong.
- Do NOT post in a private thread unless it is for you! Private threads are private for a reason.
- Again, this site is PG-13 which means roleplay may not contain high levels of adult content. If you have a question about this, ask me through PM.
- Canon characters can only be achieved by applying for them in an application. If one is already taken or you have not been given permission to play a canon character you MAY NOT PLAY THEM.
- You MUST remain active with your canon character. After a month of inactivity without notifying staff will result in the canon character being revoked and returned to the available status.
- Noncanon characters and canon characters alike are achieved by creating an application. YOU MUST wait until that application is accepted to play them!
- The site is double-timed which means your character ages twice as fast - one week real time would be two weeks on the site, one month would be two months here, and one year would be two years here.
- Some items, such as magic powers can only be bought through the site's store using virtual currencies. Characters cannot have these items unless they have purchased them and I am aware of it.
- Text speak (u, r, y, lol) is not allowed in roleplay unless you specifically address that your character is texting or typing on the computer to a buddy.
ROLEPLAY EXAMPLES
For the display name thing. The name of the character you play is the name of your account. For example, I roleplay Regina Mills and so my display name is her name. Any other character I make will be made with a separate account.
For those who do not know, powerplaying is when you automatically cause damage to a character without waiting for a dodge or miss. An example of that would be:
Regina mustered up all her strength and punched Emma right in the nose.
The person who plays Emma was not given the chance to be hit or dodge Regina's blow, causing automatic damage. This is NOT acceptable and will get you a warning.
A better fighting post would be like this:
Regina mustered up all her strength and tried to punch Emma in the nose.
Now, Emma's roleplayer is given the chance to dodge the attack.
IF by chance the roleplayer forgets to acknowledge that you aimed a blow at them, the hit can automatically be assumed to cause damage.
Godmodding is similar to powerplaying except it when a character repeatedly dodges blow after blow without becoming injured. The maximum times you can dodge is three in a row and after that, your character must take a hit. So, using our Regina/Emma examples. If Regina was to try and hit Emma three times but each time Emma dodged, if the fight had not been settled by then, Regina's next blow would have to damage Emma or Emma's roleplayer would be warned for godmodding.
As for roleplaying itself, this site is semi-literate. That's not a lot to ask right? But it goes a little more beyond that. Semi-literate means that your grammar and spelling must be decent. Try roleplaying how you would write a story, using quotation marks as speaking and stuff.
