Cordelia left her kingdom at 15 because of a law they implied there. Girls, who weren't married at age 15, had to leave the kingdom. And so she did. Eventually, she found the Evil Queen's kingdom, where her welcome was nothing gentle. She was thrown in the dungeons when refused to inform her destination to some guards, but the Queen set her free, impressed by the girl's politeness. Through the years, she traveled kingdom to another, working her magic, without a place to call home. When she was 25, she was in Braessa and met Prince Damien who, impressed with the girl's beauty and history, instantly fell in love with her, and so she did for him. After a few months, they got married, but the happy marriage didn't last very long. Damien was murdered in a battle against a enemy kingdom, but she was strong and fought side by side with her army, avenging the death of her beloved, winning. Damien's parents died a few weeks later. As she was the only thing the kingdom had, they crowned her their Queen, in which place she never left. With Regina's curse, she was transported to Storybrooke as Camila Santoro, who inherited the private investigation business from her family.
